Fabulous day at beautiful Franklin Hills. 200 golfers in two separate shotguns enjoyed the immaculate course conditions and the outstanding hospitality of one of the area's premiere clubs.

Lou Corey & Ken Lombardo (Detroit Golf Club)took low gross honors with a 73. Tony Gholz, Jr. (Port Huron) & Denton Wolf (Barton Hills) were low overall in Flight 2 with a net 59. Dan Mistura and Steve Mead (Red Run) were low net for the day in Flight 3 with a 61

120 players competed in three flights over a beautifully conditioned track on a perfect sunny afternoon.

Low gross in Flight 1 went to Ken Lombardo and Rob Anderson (72). Three 62's tied for first in the 2nd flight: Dan Jess & Tom Nemes, Mike Gibson & John Donnelly and Chuck Antaya & Ray DeClerk. A pair of 60's tied for 1st in flight 3: Dick Aginian & Art Emerson along with Ralph Cowie & Jim Smallwood.

A traditional Michigan Seniors favorite, Red Run did not disappoint. A morning field of 72 and an afternoon field of 100 players enjoyed near-perfect conditions and the legendary Red Run dinner buffet.
Paul Gillihan and Rich Dumas (Detroit Golf Club) took overall low gross with a 71. Stanley Gilchrist and Chuck McIntyre (Monroe CC) won overall low net with a 53 among a field that featured no fewer than ten (10)teams that broke 60! The handicap committee went into an immediate emergency session!

         








 

August 6 – Indianwood Old Course

August 20 – Warwick Hills 

 September 17 – Meadowbrook

Another great day at Indianwood in spite of same late afternoon showers.
A hole-in-one by John Bellanti of Walnut Creek on #5 of the Old Course highlighted the day. Low gross for the day was turned in by the team of Robert Peuterbaugh and Dan DeLano (72). Sandy Eynon and Dick Rassell recorded the overall low net for the day with a 59.

 

Warwick Hills, site of the P.G.A.Tour Champions Ally Challenge hosted the Michigan Seniors on a beautiful day, exceeded only by the beautiful condition of the golf course. Festivities included an appearance by PGA professional Rocco Mediate and an 18" closest-to-the-hole shot by Rich Irwin. Dan DeLano and Robert Peuterbaugh won for the second consecutive time with a gross 68. Rich Irwin and Cary Wieting (Oakland Hills) carded a net 59 to take the 2nd flight. Steve Christian & Steve Spooner (Country Club of Jackson) won flight 4 with a net 56.

 

Dan Delano of Radrick Farms captured the Fritz Adams Individual Championship at Meadowbrook Country Club with a gross 77 edging out runner-up Ken Lombardo. 

     Paul Chosid of Knollwood took the Super Senior Individual Championship with a gross 79. Bob Cunningham (Detroit Golf Club) was runner-up.

Keith Burch (Red Run) and Bill Cornell (Forest Dunes) established a new 18-hole, net-best-ball record with a 51; including a hole-in-one by Keith Burch.

Thus concluded a terrific 95th season of Michigan Seniors Golf on some of Michigan's finest courses. Thanks to all who participated and thanks to the generous Clubs that hosted us this season.
